On: Critical review of photography & Critical review of Corporate photography
The series of video/performance work Critical review of photography and Critical review of Corporate photography have been created out of irrational annoyance.
In other words they have become "spontaneous outbursts" of uncontrollable irritation over i.e capitalist systems (corporate photography). The issue in "Critical review of photography", where art photography is being examined and analyzed, is more complicated, it's not a criticism per se but perhaps somewhat of a dissappointment in the common view on art photography.
I believe in critisims, not in making fun of. I claim I'm not making fun of either art or corporate systems. I'm viewing them from a personal point of view, and this view is unfortunately not always very optimistic. I also claim that I know what I'm talking about. I would never set out to do a work like this without knowledge about my topic.
In other works I have done exactly that, from the simple reason that I have wanted to find out about a certain topic. These works are usually referred to as "research" or investigations.
In May 2008 I did my third CRITIC piece, the "critical review on Icelandic power structures" live in Reykjavik during the local Arts festival.
